The 2024 election is in sight; therefore, the government science department is holding a seminar on literacy and political media on June 19, 2023, to be precise, at UNIKOM’s miracle auditorium. Apart from UNIKOM students, other participants came from several high school students in the city of Bandung who will soon have the right to vote in the 2024 general election (PEMILU).

This seminar was held for novice voters facing the 2024 general election because, as seen from the lack of public participation in the election, this could be due to their ignorance or not caring at all, causing apathy towards general election activities.

Moderated by one of the government science lecturers, namely Rino Adibowo, S.IP., M.Sc., this seminar presented two speakers who were one of the lecturers in the communication science study program as well as the head of the KPID JABAR, Adiyana Slamet, S.IP., M.Sc., along with West Java province KPU member Dr. Nina Yuningsih, S.Ag., S.Pd., M.M. These two speakers provided information and guidance for first-time voters, and the participants attending this seminar will become Indonesian citizens who have the right to vote in the upcoming 2024 general election. The hope of this seminar is that seminar participants who will become first-time voters can understand how important their voting rights are for the realization of democracy in the Republic of Indonesia.
